Milton Zeis had a tattoo supply business from the late 1930's until the 1950’s. He would advertise in many magazines of the day, "Make More Money, Meet New People, See New Places, BECOME A TATTOOER!" For a nominal amount, he would send you a tattoo lessons, a couple of machines and needles, and a couple of design sheets. The tattoo lessons would come every month. Each new lesson would build on the skills taught from the previous lesson and would impart a new tidbit of “inside” tattoo information. There were lessons for outlining, making stencils, lettering... every aspect that an aspiring tattooer would need to know.
We have recently acquired a full set of Milton Zeis tattoo lessons. They are a wonderful and fascinating look into tattooing in the middle part of the last century.
