Tattooing flourished in the carnivals in the early 1900's through the late 1970's. Everything the tattooer needed to tattoo was carried around in a large trunk. The trunk opened up to reveal a workstation where the tattooer would sit and tattoo for as long as there were people wanting to be tattooed. The designs hanging in the tent are held together by pipe cleaner enabling them to be folded up for easy storage and travel.
